About

Reese Guevarra from New City, New York is a speedy lefty who plays centerfield and 2B. She can bunt, soft slap, power slap and hit for power. Home to 1B is in the 2.7 range (documented at combines and video). She has been described by her coaches as an intense competitor. Even though she has had a lot of success in her young career Reese has a very strong work ethic and works everyday at becoming better.

A junior at Immaculate Heart Academy (IHA) in Washington Township NJ, Reese has been an honor student all her life and has been selected for induction into the National Honor Society. IHA is known for its rigorous academics and top notch athletic programs. The IHA softball program coached by Anthony LaRezza is a top ranked team in NJ and has achieved national ranking 5 years in a row.

In 2015 as a sophomore, Reese broke IHA’s single season hit record finishing with 67 hits and 52 runs scored. She also reached 100 hits in the fastest amount of time in IHA history (achieving it in the middle of her sophomore year). Reese was selected 1st Team All-State and honored as Big North Conference Player of the Year and NJ Record Player of the Year. IHA won the NJ Non-Public A State Title for a state record 10th time making them arguably the most successful HS softball program in NJ. Reese was also selected as an NFCA 1st Team All-American and MaxPreps Underclass All-American for the 2nd year in a row.

In 2014 as a freshman, Reese was selected 1st Team All-Division; 1st Team All-County;  1st Team All-North Jersey; 1st Team All-State Non-Public (NJ); 1st Team NFCA All-East Region & 2nd Team All-State and MaxPreps Underclass All-American.

Reese also broke IHA softball’s freshman hit record finishing with over 50 hits on the season. As a freshman Reese batted over .500 and led the nationally ranked varsity team with 4 All-State Seniors and 7 Senior starters in on base percentage at .587.

“She’s an offensive terror…She can put it over the fence, she can lay down a bunt and she’s just a nightmare to try and defend. The scary part is, she’s only a freshman and is only going to get better and better.” – IHA Coach Anthony LaRezza
